One of our favorite meats is Chicken. It is incredibly versatile, very lean and incredibly tasty.
When starting a new diet, chicken is the meat of choice. You can do so much with it and it provides us with the valuable protein that we need.
If you overcook a Chicken, which many tend to do, it can take on a rather dry consistency, especially if you are eating in as part of a salad etc. If you are getting bored with Chicken, simply try some different recipes to create some great tasting dishes.
Using chicken as the meat content in lots of different dishes ensures that it will never become boring. The worst scenario is that by eating it the same way all the time you can sicken yourself of it to the stage where you can’t face another forkful. A major downside of this is that you will then start eating unhealthier meats again.
I’ve some healthy suggestions here for different ways to incorporate chicken into some delicious dishes. Some you may have tried before, and if you haven’t already, give them a go! You can’t beat a dish that is both delicious and healthy.
The first suggestion is to add a low fat sauce to your chicken. My family love a sauce made from honey and orange juice, with some dried fruit added for extra sweetness. This is very simple to make and thoroughly delicious.
One of my all time favorite herbs is tarragon, and when mixed into a low fat, healthy sauce to create a creamy chicken salad it is delicious. For those with a rich palate; mayonnaise or sour cream that is low in fat can be used. So what would have been a definite no no at one time can now be eaten and enjoyed.
If you, like me, are a fan of Asian cuisine, why not try your chicken with lime and coconut? Throw in some vegetables to if you want. Get out your wok and try some of the dishes that you normally buy as take out. Chicken really should never get boring.
